Bay road which runs North/south for 7 blocks between 14th ave and the canal that runs parallel to Dade Blvd, has a tranquilly quality to it, almost an oasis of serenity considering its proximity to the vibrant lifestyle generated by shops and restaurants located over in Lincoln and Alton. Few if any would recognize this adjacency. Our design for 6 Townhouses seeks to touch over this contradiction and in doing so we organize them in 4 levels and around the corner that accentuates its residential quality. Subtlety hidden behind rows of lush vegetation; our design incorporates rows of planters on the upper most level reaffirming its horizontality yet doing it gracefully. Likewise vertical elements furred with wood slats identifies the units whilst still allowing it to be read as a cohesive unit. Thin slabs extend beyond the façade in a rhythmic way, sometimes coming off as balconies and others as planters, yet this rhythm while enhancing movement is still perceived within a unified building
