Corporate Office building Balboa Corp comes as the logical expansion of a strip mall bearing the same name whose original construction dates back 8 years. The original commercial building composed of a underground garage level and two levels above ground limited its exposure towards Balboa street, leaving the corner and the façade over 28 de julio street as future expansion. Over said portion of the lot, we proposed a 10 story office building with 6,000 m2 of office area, linking it to all the existing levels with 6 additional levels of underground parking. Being this a corner of extremely high exposure in the city we proposed a building that distanced itself from the prototypical rigid lined corporate office building, and laid out a solution that exposed a continuous sinuous ascending movement with a novel design curtain wall system, as well as the integration of systems that allowed LEED certification.
