It is tremendously important that, after a conflict, society takes the initiative to organize a narrative around it. In Peru, the bloody proposal of the terrorist group came to an end with the capture of its most formidable leader in 1992. It took 18 long years for the initiative to organize an exhibition and narrative about it to materialize. To this day, the narrative bias continues to open deep rifts in society. We participated in the international architecture competition, and our proposal was shortlisted. We organized our proposal based on a journey, both in terms of its location, which involved a descent from the city’s urban fabric to the cliffs overlooking the vast Pacific Ocean, and in its metaphysical sense, which involves an internalization of the analysis and narrative of Peru as a society. In this sense, we reversed the typical sequence of a public space to go from top to bottom, and in this way, we organized the exhibition, proposing a sequence or a journey. This sequence also included turning points, which, being decisive or defining actions in time, represent shifts or redirections for the visitor in the space.
